Who are we?

The Great Start Cass Parent Coalition is a group of parent, caregiver and guardian volunteers in Cass county with children under the age of 12. We serve as advocates and thought leaders for guiding the county’s work on behalf of young children as an essential advisor to the Great Start Collaborative.

What do we do?

The Great Start Parent Coalition gathers regularly to actively promote and raise awareness of the importance of investing in a strong system for early childhood.

We have four goals:

  1. To assist in improving programs and services for Cass County families with children prenatal to third grade by providing a “customer” perspective
  2. To educate community members about the importance of early childhood
  3. To support the Great Start Collaborative and it’s work toward achieving Michigan’s early childhood outcomes
  4. To provide information, education, and resources to parents raising young children

Why is it important?

Parents and caregivers lend a hand and give voice to the belief that every child from birth to third grade deserves a Great Start in life. When family members are involved in the collaborative process, we see the very best systems rise up that serve our county’s children.
